Do you see what I see??

My door!!! At last!! It's being fitted as I type, and I'm now the proud owner of 100% more natural light than I had before!!! Who's a happy camper then?? I'd love to take some shots from the front but I'm in danger of being nail gunned to something if I go out on the deck.

W.I.P.

I've finally gotten my sleep patterns under control enough to make a definate start on Kit's quilt....as well as finding the other contrast I was looking for courtesy of a pair of schmicky PJ's I found at the Salvos warehouse at EMP this morning. So this is where we're at so far....

I've got a four day work shift at the shop this week as well as my school shifts, so I'm hoping to get some serious progress made tomorrow before I morph back into the Zombie From The Land Of Nod. On the upside of zero sleep is the fact that this weeks and last weeks shifts have paid for my Christmas shopping for the boys and a little splurge for yours truly via Borders.com.....I have the first 4 Jeaniene Frost books ordered, something to take my mind off all those early starts!!

Patience or lack therof / catch 22

I just found dust on my camera bag. Mostly from disuse. The downside of working two jobs to pay for my studio refit is having no time to take any damn shots. I'm totally knackered and really fed up with waiting for things to get done. Thank God, the new glass door goes in on Monday, and the flooring soon after....which is what all my 3am wake up calls are paying for. Then all I have to do is pick up my lights and I'm back in business. Providing I can keep my eyes open. Yowza.

Someday my pins will come.....

OMG that's gotta be the most tragic post title ever!! Meh, blame it on sleep deprivation. I finally dared to pick up the dreaded rotary trimmer today and managed to turn a once respectable short ladies dressing gown into 39 six and a quarter inch squares, suitable for making a teenage quilt. Which leaves me approximately 57 squares short of the required amount. If I was lazy I could just go patchwork, as I have at least that many left over from Sebi's quilt, but I wanted something slightly less lairy and a little more adult for the teenage mutant, so I'm thinking about tripping down to the local oppy in search of a similar garment in black to use as a contrast. Also I need to apologise to the fine people at Janome for threatening to chainsaw one of their products in my last quilting frenzy. My machine's a Husqvarna.

Building Site.....

As I write, FF is putting the final touches to my studio roof. All I need now is the glass-door-installation-guy to come and do his thing and then I paint, and voila PHP is revamped, rehoused and ready for action. I'm dying to set up and do some test shots, but unfortunately the only thing I could photograph at the moment is the big pile of lumber on the floor. Not exactly riveting viewing.....
So, I wait. With bated breath and itchy fingers, till my space is mine again. I'll post some pic of the end result. Sooner, rather than later, fingers crossed.

Dangermouse/Super Shopper

Dammit...still waiting for my body clock to get into gear so I don't find myself catching random zzz's instead of actually achieving anything. So far I've managed to almost remove a finger with my rotary cutter while trying to piece Kit's quilt, as well as having several of those random bizzarre deals where you suddenly find yourself pulling the car into the driveway complete with kid with absolutely no recollection of going out to collect him from school. To anyone who may have spoken to me on the school run during the last couple of days, I appologise profusely for anything strange (OK... stranger than usual) that I might have said....or done (yikes). I dared the Spotlight sale today with Melissa and Princess Willa and picked up some bargains for the boys for Christmas....new doona covers, and a mink blanket each at a fraction of what they normally cost, which seems a ridiculous purchase considering the season (and the temperature), but I am nothing if not a forward planner, lol. I also got to replace my rotary cutter for half price... like I didn't do enough damage with the old one, heehee. Now all I have to do is wait till my body and brain are residing in the same time zone, before picking up anything sharp.
